Very Special Christmas

Today is Christmas, and my husband and I are having a very merry time with my family. This is my first Christmas with my biological father and my younger brother and sisters. Out of all of my father's children 5 out of 7 of us are here, and it's so cool. We are all almost grown (the youngest is 16), and although we didn't grow up together we click so well. We all have a love and respect for one another that is very evident but can't be explained. The crazy thing is that if my son was still here, this special moment in our lives probably would not have happened for me. Knowing me I would have been too busy living my life and trying to be the good Samaritan to even consider spending time with distant family and loved ones. I would have been too busy with work or church. I prayed for balance, and slowly but surely it's coming. I thank God for Christ. I know Jesus is the reason for the season, and it's only through Christ that I am able to have this cherishable moment. God has brought so much restoration to family relationships this year. In spite of my loss, I am grateful. I pray that this is only the beginning. This is indeed a very special Christmas for me. Merry Christmas!
